The department has authorized the elimination of three MP-2 positions, as recommended by the National Information Technology Board (NITB).
According to sources, the NITB board approved the proposed organogram at its most recent meeting and instructed that a Chief Operating Officer job be created to supervise the general cadre of posts.
The board decided that the MP scale post should be eliminated because it would no longer be necessary under the new organizational structure.
First, the three MP-2 posts would be eliminated immediately, and by the end of June 2024, hiring in accordance with the suggested organizational structure would have taken place.
Currently, the department has one open position and two officials working on MP-2 grade positions.
According to sources, one DG NITB’s tenure would also end in August of this year. According to sources, the incapacity of the department’s high ups prevented the Ministry of IT&T’s attach department, NITB, from starting a significant project during the previous two to three years.
